Display Power Supply

Dear Support,

we are looking forward to use this display in our project. We have seen that it requires lots of different power supply voltages. Is there any piece of hardware you recommend to generate the AVDD, VGH and VGL? What are they needed for?

Thank you

Hi,

I've now read all support topics about powering this display. I've read these topics in particular:

https://www.displaytech-us.com/forum/dt070btft-pin-function-and-configuration

https://www.displaytech-us.com/forum/power-generation-dt070btft-pts1

https://www.displaytech-us.com/forum/dt070btft-pts1-lcd-module-sequencing

In all answers there is the suggestion to use the TPS56105 from TI to supply the display. I've checked it, but the power on sequence doesn't seem to fit the datasheet of the display. Here the sequencing from the device and from the datasheet:

In particular it seems that T5 constraint is not met, so I guess this isn't working.

I've tried with the device evaluation module to meet the circuit you proposed in one of the prevoius topic, but the screen seems not to turn on.

Am I missing something? Is this the right device for the job?

Another question, if I only connect the power supply, without any data wiring, just to check if my power supply stage is working, would I see something on the display (like all black screen) or not?

Hi,

You have it all.

If you power up the display, you will not see anything.

Also, keep in mind that you need to also turn on the backlight (besides powering up the display.

Thanks,

So, the TPS65105 is NOT ok for the device, is it?

Hi,

TPS65105 is perfect for this device.  Hence the reference design we provided.
